Why book with us?

We are experts, not just in surfing but in training, we work to our own standards .. developed from a lifetime of running activity tuition. Our sessions provide far more information than many other surf schools, presented in a clear and logical sequence and broken down into easily understandable sections. We have developed training programmes for national teams, individual world champions and fun sessions for first timers!

The beginners sessions we run will provide not just a quick "experience" but are designed to lay the foundations for progression in the sport making it easier to achieve success in your future practice and more advanced courses. We don't just show you HOW to do it but explain WHY it works so that you understand all aspects of surfing technique and beach safety.

Where are the sessions run?

​

Sessions are usually run at Pebbles café, South end of Newgale as the surf is more consistent there, especially in Summer. In rougher weather, if the waves are unsuitable for the group the session will be moved to Broad Haven (North) which is normally a little more sheltered so has smaller surf. We operate a phone in system for clients to check which beach from 8.30 on the morning of the session.

When are sessions held?

​

Daily during school holidays, Weekends from whitsun to end of October, at anytime May to October inclusive for groups of four or more, Individual coaching by arrangement. Advanced Photo coaching at any time of year (this may not be available during school holiday times).

Is equipment supplied?

​

YES We supply boards and wetsuits : boards are suitable for beginner and improver courses .. you may want to bring your own board for advanced courses, otherwise we will arrange a board for you. Wetsuits are warm "all year round" suits which are also suitable for Winter surfing and have some extra accessories so if the weather happens to be windy or wet it's not a problem!

Will the course go ahead if it's raining?

​

Yes and some of the best surf conditions happen then!

What do we need to bring?

​

Warm outdoor clothing, old trainers/beach shoes, wetsuit boots. (Footwear is not essential for actual surfing but for walking down the beach path which may be stony).

What if there's no surf or we are unable to run the session as arranged?

​

We will offer you:

• Another session on a mutually convenient day.

• Another activity e.g. Stand Up Paddleboarding (may incur an extra charge or a refund depending on value).

• A full refund if the above are not possible for you.

 

Do we have used boards and wetsuits for sale?

​

Yes as we renew our teaching stock annually .. expect to pay around £120 for a board (RRP £220) and £65 for a wetsuit (RRP £110)

More Information

​

 

• Improver courses run every weekend from May to Oct inclusive and mornings for children in July/Aug. Additional courses are run according to demand.

• Sessions for groups of friends, families or corporate days can be run at any time of the year subject to availability/weather conditions.

• Sessions will be run at the most suitable location on the day depending on weather, tides and surf conditions and the ability of course members. There is a phone-in/text from 8.30am on the morning of the session to confirm which beach and the start time. The surf school is located at our main operating base at PEBBLES café, NEWGALE BEACH. SA62 6BD (15 minutes from Haverfordwest on the St.Davids road).

• In the event of no surf, (rare) the booking may be rescheduled by mutual agreement or otherwise a full refund will be made. An option of an alternative activity may be available though there may be an extra payment required if the activity is of a higher value.

• A full refund will be made for cancellations prior to 30 days before the session.

• Bookings may be transferred to another person providing a booking form is completed and any medical condition is notified.

• In the event of a client cancelling within 30 days of the session or not attending a prebooked session an admin. charge of £25 will be taken from deposit paid or card To avoid this please ensure you have holiday/travel insurance to cover cancellation due to medical conditions / emergencies etc.).
